Severiano D. Garcia, 94, of Munday passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 21, 2026. He was born February 21, 1932 in Mexico to Tiburcio and Nieves Garcia.

Severiano was a devout Catholic who loved his family. He and his wife, Maria, were married for over 70 years. He was a farmer by trade, which he took pride in, but in his free time he loved to garden. He was known for his love of fresh fish, Blue Bell vanilla ice cream and later in life, his afternoon naps. Serveriano was the last surviving sibling of his seven brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Lala, Petra, Cristanta, Bia, Raul, Juan and Socorro. Severiano is survived by his wife Maria; son Gene Garcia and wife Bertha; daughters Vera Tomlinson and husband Larry and Rosa Alonzo; grandchildren Amanda, Elaine, Michelle, Terry, Tracee, Tony, David, Mark, Jose, Lupe, Antonio, Emma and Luisa. Also, 29 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A visitation/rosary will be held at 6PM, Tuesday, June 23rd at McCauley-Smith Funeral Home (130 N Birch Ave). Graveside services will be at 2PM, Wednesday, June 24th at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
