Obituary

Nancy Jo Bowman (Aunt Jo) went to her heavenly home on October 8, 2026. She was born to Mary Poer Bowman and Vester Duel Bowman in Throckmorton County, Texas on November 19, 1931.

She grew up in Haskell County and attended school in Goree, Texas. After graduation from Hardin-Simmons University she taught school before moving to Midland in 1953 to begin a thirty-seven-year career with Chevron Oil Company.

Nancy was a long-time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Midland where she enjoyed teaching children’s Sunday School and VBS for forty years. She was a member of Desk and Derrick, a reading mentor volunteer at MISD and an active member in her community. Nancy enjoyed spending time with cherished family and friends, traveling to many other countries as well as all over the United States.

Nancy shared a special bond with her sister Margaret Jean and loved her Nieces as if they were her own. She had a deep love for all her great nieces and nephews as well. She will always be remembered for her giving spirit, sassy attitude and committed relationship with the Lord.

Survivors include her three nieces and their spouses, Cindy Riddle and Melvin, Susan Griffin, Lisa Binder and Charlie; great nieces and nephews, Suzanne Durow and Mike, Rodney Riddle and Barbara, Angie Sterling and Robert, Holly Neely, Hillari Gould and Zach, Coleton Stewart, Christopher Wells and Samantha, Ashley Danielle Binder, Whitney Wells, Chelsea Johansen and Josh, Joshua Binder and Ashley Brooke Binder; their loved and cherished children, Ryleigh, Allexis, Madison, Svana & husband Dustin, Jakobe, Hudson, Holdon, Ryann, Colt, Jaylyn, Paxtyn, Jace, Bentley, Declan, PJ, Marcus, Cian, Isabella, Ainslee, Jackson, Kaylyn, Caleb, Taylor, Sariah and Alissa.

Preceded in death; Parents Mary and Vester Bowman, Sister and best friend Margaret Jean Lambeth, Brother-in-law Bobby Lambeth: Great Niece Griffin Noelle Anderson, Nephew Travis Griffin and Great Nephew Nicholas Binder.

Many thanks to all who cared for Nancy at Manor Park, Hospice of Midland and her Sunday school class at FBC who always remembered to let her know she was receiving prayers.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home in Munday, Tx. Family visitation will be Sunday October 11, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm 130 N. Birch Ave. Munday, Tx. Gravesides services will be at Brushy Cemetery in Haskell County on Monday October 12, 2026, at 11:00 am with Colton Wright officiating.
