Mildred “Millie” Elizabeth Vadney passed away peacefully on August 6 th , 2026 at the age of 95. Born in Knox City, Texas on April 3 rd , 1931, to John and Annie (Jungman) Michels. She married her first love Robert Anthony Vadney (Deceased 1961) on March 23, 1951. Together they had 4 children, Barbara Ann, Robert Anthony Jr, Stephen John, and Carol Marie. Later she married Joseph Richard Vadney on February 10, 1962 and together they had 1 child, Joan Ida.
She was a devout Catholic who centered her life around faith and family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting outdoor scenery. She also loved a good game of Dominoes and Bingo.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her oldest daughter Barbara Ann Williams, youngest daughter Joan Ida Vadney-Stradley, and her sisters Lois Ann Smith and Johnny Elaine Graf.
Her memory will live on with her family, son-in-law Randy Williams, son Robert and wife Kathleen Vadney, son Stephen and wife Wendy Vadney, daughter Carol and husband Ronnie Motloch; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, sister Gloria Jean Descoteaux and brother J.W. Michels;along with numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In celebration of her life, family and friends are invited to gather on August 14th at 6pm for Rosary at McCauley-Smith Funeral Home and August 15th , 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for Mass and Interment.
